Assistive Listening That Brings Your Sound System to Your Audience
Make hearing assistance part of your venue's welcome. The Enersound ALC-4P assistive listening system delivers audio to four listeners through dedicated wireless receivers and earphones. Connect the transmitter to a compatible audio source to support guests following a performance, worship service, presentation or public meeting.
For theaters, churches, meeting rooms and event spaces, this package brings together the equipment guests use and the signage that lets them know assistance is available: one base transmitter, four receivers, four pairs of earphones and an ADA hearing assistance plaque.
Planning an ADA installation? Compatible telecoil neckloops are sold separately. Receiver quantities, hearing-aid compatibility, system performance and signage must match the requirements of your facility; the included plaque does not certify compliance.
Help Guests Follow the Program with Greater Confidence
Turning up room speakers does not address every listening difficulty. An assistive listening system sends the source audio to a receiver worn by the guest, helping reduce the effects of distance and room noise. Guests can listen through the supplied earphones while your venue continues using its main sound system.
- Serve four listeners from one transmitter: distribute a receiver and earphones to each guest who needs hearing assistance.
- Make assistance visible: use the included plaque to tell visitors that listening equipment is available.
- Plan for additional listeners: expand with compatible receivers and listening accessories, sold separately.
- Support repeat use: the transmitter and receivers carry a limited three-year warranty.
Professional Assistive Listening for Your Venue
Theaters and Performing Arts Spaces
Offer hearing assistance for dialogue, announcements and other audio included in your sound-system feed. Make receiver pickup part of the front-of-house process, and let guests know where to request equipment before the performance begins. Choose the receiver quantity for your seating capacity and anticipated demand.
Churches and Worship Services
Help congregants follow sermons, readings and amplified music through a dedicated listening receiver. The package gives your welcome team equipment to offer visitors who need help hearing the service. Religious entities are generally exempt from federal ADA Title III; state or local requirements may differ.
Conferences, Training Rooms and Events
Provide a listening option for presentations, panel discussions and training sessions. Include every relevant microphone and playback source in the audio feed so guests can follow the complete program. For events with multiple rooms or simultaneous sessions, plan each room's audio and receiver needs separately.
Public Meetings and Community Programs
Support participants at civic presentations, educational programs and community meetings. A designated equipment pickup point and a staff member familiar with receiver operation can make hearing assistance easier to request and use.

ADA Planning: Receivers, Hearing-Aid Compatibility and Signage
Under the 2010 ADA Standards, covered assembly areas where audible communication is integral generally require assistive listening when audio amplification is provided. Courtrooms have a separate rule: the absence of amplification does not create the same exception. Applicability depends on the facility and project.
For planning under Table 219.3, the following minimum receiver counts apply:
| Seating capacity | Minimum receivers | Minimum hearing-aid-compatible receivers |
|---|---|---|
| 50 or fewer | 2 | 2 |
| 51–75 | 3 | 2 |
| 76–100 | 4 | 2 |
Four receivers can cover the numerical receiver requirement for up to 100 seats under this table, but the base package alone does not establish compliance. For this FM system, plan compatible telecoil neckloops for at least two receivers in these seating ranges. Neckloops are not included. Larger spaces require additional receivers, and all applicable technical and signage provisions still apply.
The plaque informs guests that assistance is available. It is not an ADA approval certificate. Review Section 219, Section 706 and Section 216.10 when planning your installation.
Choose a System Your Team Can Put to Work
Start with the four-listener package for your hearing assistance program, select the carrying-case option that suits your operation, and plan any additional receivers or telecoil neckloops before installation. Give guests a clear way to request assistance and a dedicated way to hear your program.
FAQs About This Assistive Listening System
Is this an assistive listening device or a complete system?
This offer is an assistive listening system package. It includes a transmitter, four receiver devices, four pairs of earphones and a hearing assistance plaque. You provide the compatible audio source and any connection cables or additional accessories required for your installation.
Can I use these assistive listening devices with an existing sound system?
Yes, when the audio source provides a compatible output for the transmitter. Check the connector and signal level before choosing your cable. The transmitter then distributes that audio to the included receivers.
Does the ADA plaque mean the kit is ADA approved?
No. The plaque announces the availability of hearing assistance. Compliance depends on the applicable requirements, receiver quantity, hearing-aid compatibility, technical performance and signage. Telecoil neckloops are sold separately with this package.
Are four receivers enough for my venue?
Four people can use the included receivers at the same time. Venue planning also depends on seating capacity, demand and applicable accessibility requirements. Four receivers satisfy the numerical minimum for up to 100 seats under ADA Table 219.3, but at least two must be hearing-aid compatible in those seating ranges and the installation must meet the other applicable provisions.
Can guests use the system with hearing aids?
Guests with compatible telecoil-equipped hearing aids can use an appropriate neckloop connected to a receiver. Neckloops are optional and sold separately. Confirm the accessory and the guest's hearing-aid compatibility; the included earphones do not establish telecoil compatibility by themselves.
Are assisted listening systems the same as assistive listening systems?
Both terms are commonly used for equipment that brings source audio to a listener who needs hearing assistance. This Enersound package is an FM assistive listening system for venue use, with one transmitter serving dedicated personal receivers.
